This is a free verse,
Something I'm not gonna curse.
The rules are what I strive for,
Though I admit, I've strayed once before.
Tempted by the twisting of rhyme,
I'd watch it pour out like wine.
For a while, it was a habit...
But in the end, my love was to make words fit.

On occasion I feel nameless
then assess the situation.
Less obsessed with myself,
I’m obsessed with changing the Nation.
So sip slow, I’ll tip toe then stomp down a bridge.
It’s official, a wish in the theta state is
something you’re not ready for
and you’re stuck in a matrix,

More than Thought

Fights with everything you are.
But I’m still typing in the dark,
I guess that’s just my lot;
I’m typing like a fool for you,

It seems that the colder the months get, the harder we try to cram ourselves full of good cheer, generosity, and just a little bit of selfish hedonism. For this challenge I want you to write about excess, seasonal or otherwise.
