A Night Spent with the Sky

Watching stars in morning of the night,
shivering as dew forms on my skin
camera flashes flicker in my eyes,
focus, and the stars will start to spin

We whisper so we don’t disturb the night,
this stillness made of shadowed, shining green
beneath a dark sky rimmed with cooling light

The Sea

Distant waves splash against the shore,
As gulls cry up towards the sky.
Dry grasses rustle in the cool wind,
A sharp breeze carrying the smell of salt inland.
The beach,
A sheltered cove littered with smooth, round stones,
Makes uneven footing for lonely bathers.
The salt water,
Bitter and tempting all at once,
Crests white before falling.

The Ruins

These ruins have been beautiful for too long.

Flowers sway in cool grass that juts out among dead rock/
Bright sunlight only makes marks in thick-laid shadow/
I(ce) stay(s) confined to the dark crevices overlooked.

Where is the sun tonight? I thought it best to knock/
this bed of dying bodies is speckled with blue and yellow/

The World

Part 1 The world is so beautiful and bright. It takes care of us. The world is always spinning so very slow. But no one quite knows why. That's why I wonder but will I ever know why. When ever it rains I think why does it rain. When ever I see that window all wet I wonder why is the sun hiding behind those clouds.

The End Comes Fast

Our quest for peace is far.

A massive hole that we have dug,
we've not yet won this race.
Here we hide beneath this rug,
